Poverty variously has been defined to include lack of certain material possessions and money. The made mention of poverty brings to mind, absolute poverty in which an individual lacks the basic human survival including access to food, shelter, clothing, clean water, education and health. Poverty also takes the form of relative in which poverty is viewed as a socially defined and measured in relation to income inequality. Africa is always mentioned when it comes to poverty and to reduce this ADRRI hopes to:
- Liaise with donor agencies in the area of poverty to fund research to suggest new forms reducing poverty.
- Organize workshops and conferences mainly to disseminate and formulate policies for poverty reduction.
- Research into the many ways of averting extreme poverty in Africa.
